The Jews want peace. Not Jesus of Nazareth. The Pope gets ready to be their “peace maker”.
Pope Benedict XVI has made a sweeping exoneration of the Jewish people for the death of Jesus Christ in a new book, tackling one of the most controversial issues in Christianity.
In ‘Jesus of Nazareth’ excerpts released Wednesday, Benedict uses a biblical and theological analysis to explain why it is not true that the Jewish people as a whole were responsible for Jesus’ death.
Interpretations to the contrary have been used for centuries to justify the persecution of Jews.
While the Vatican has for five decades taught that Jews weren’t collectively responsible, Jewish scholars said Wednesday the argument laid out by the German-born pontiff, who has had his share of mishaps with Jews, was significant and would help fight anti-Semitism today.
“There’s a natural human tendency to take things for granted, and very often this tends to lead to a lapse in awareness and consciousness about the risk of anti-Semitism,” said Rabbi David Rosen, head of interreligious affairs at the American Jewish Committee and a longtime leader in Vatican-Jewish dialogue.
He noted that the Vatican issued its most authoritative document on the issue in 1965, Nostra Aetate, which revolutionized the Catholic Church’s relations with Jews by saying Christ’s death could not be attributed to Jews as a whole at the time or today.
Rosen said the pope’s words might make a bigger, more lasting mark because the faithful tend to read Scripture and commentary more so than church documents, particularly old church documents.
“It may be an obvious thing for Jews to present texts with commentaries, but normally with church magisterium, they present a document,” he said. “This is a pedagogical tool that he’s providing, so people will be able to interpret the text in keeping with orthodox Vatican teaching.”

My comment:
Neither the Pope, nor the majority of Jews, are interested in turning towards Jesus the Messiah and be saved. That the Pope frees the Jewish people from being THE people who killed Jesus, does not free each individual human being from being guilty.
It was my sins that crucified Jesus. Your sins too, and the sins of each individual Jew. Only by accepting the Messiah as Lord and savior, you can enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Only Jesus can save. Not Moses and Elijah, nor the Pope.
The Vatican has already told the Jews, that they can get saved without embracing Jesus as the Messiah. That makes the Pope an anti-Christ.
Acts 17:31
For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof of this to everyone by raising him from the dead.”
Since the Jews want peace at any cost, regardless if the truth about the Kingdom of Heaven and coming judgment is preached, the Pope will soon be their perfect “peacemaker”. He will unite all World religions, and enter Jerusalem as the “man of peace”. Jesus will return and thrown this false “peace maker” into hell. The flesh of his followers will be eaten by the birds.

Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies gathered together to wage war against the rider on the horse and his army. But the beast was captured, and with it the false prophet who had performed the signs on its behalf. With these signs he had deluded those who had received the mark of the beast and worshiped its image. The two of them were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur. excellent article.i believe the present pope is just
fulfilling the prophecy of st.malachy.according to st.malachy he will be the second last pope and a great peacemaker,glory of olives.

I respect your opinion.
I am Jewish so I am torn by your opinion. However, it has merit in that what it sets up.
So, my opinion is that what this Pope is saying is accurate. This has been interpreted this way by others. The idea though is not weather it’s true or not, but why this POPE decided to do this NOW?

The thing is though that I can actually see it going the OTHER way.
I can see Jews more readily being able to ACCEPT Jesus as a result. But, either way, whether Jews move toward Jesus or Christians embrace Judaism, my logic then tells me that it will come out to the same thing, something of a “cross” (pun intended)and in the end may become one.
So, the bottom line is, I’m not sure he’s ANTI – CHRIST. And I don’t think that the RABI that chooses to embrace Jesus will be ANTI Israel, but I think that they will show themselves as “INCLUSIONARIES.” Islam is EXCLUSIVE, so I’m not sure how they will be able to combine that one yet, but the enemy of my enemy is my friend, at least for now.

The gospel is exclusive. Jesus in the only way to Heaven. Para. If you do not believe so, you will die in your sins, and perish. By rejecting Jesus, millions of Jews and gentiles have rejected God. para. The Pope is the man of lawlessness. There is no truth in Him. You will soon see, that the World will embrace the pontiff, and hail him as “His Holiness”. The Pope is not holy at all. He lives in a pit of errors and idol worship.
Not only do I find this article conceited and rude, but the premise is incredibly insulting. I am still amazed by the exclusiveness of Christianity, but it is the ease with which Christians use the Bible to show that anyone who believes in anything else is condemned to an eternal, fiery, miserable torment that truly takes my breath away. In fact, it convinces me that the true hero in this work of fiction is Satan. After all, what do you call the one who rises against a sadistic man who forces everyone to worship him lest they burn in hell? I say it’s a hero.

1 Peter 2:24 – “who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we having died to sins, might live for righteousness – by whose stripes you were healed.”
Those who do not accept him will die in their sins.
John 8:24 “Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I AM He, you will die in your sins.”
John 14:6-7 Jesus said to him, “I AM the way, the truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
I like the old school Catholic Good Friday prayer for the Jews for their turn to Christ. these latest Popes have grown soft.

Thank you for this article, I found it very interesting. I remember reading in a Jewish newsletter about the pope pardoning the Jews for Christs death. I thought at time that there was something fishy about the whole event. The only reason i could see for the pope doing that was to continue in the one world religion he has been embarking on. your article kind of emphasized points i had not thought of. But just like you said, It is every one of us that is guilty for Jesus death. no specific nation but I personally am responsible for his death and suffering. The glorious thing is He did not saty dead. My Lord is alive!!! He died for me and because of me. He died for you and because of you no matter who you are. But through His death our sins are transfered to him all we have to do is accept and we are guilty no more because of His amazing grace and mercy. Our Lord is AMAZING!!!

Shalom, and thanks for blessing me. The Jews will search and try everything, but all of it will fail. Only a U-turn towards Jesus the Messiah will be helpful at the end of all dead ends. He will return to Earth. They will embrace Him. And He will forgive them, and keep on loving them with the eternal love. He is the great I AM.
