Canadian teen suspended for wearing Jesus’ T-shirt to school

His teachers wanted to stop William Swinimer from displaying “Life is wasted without Jesus.”.

William Swinimer, was suspended for wearing this Christian T-shirt to his school in Chester Basin, N.S, Canada.

A Nova Scotia student at the centre of a controversy about religion and public schools will have the right to wear a shirt with the message: “Life is wasted without Jesus.”

William Swinimer was suspended from the Forest Heights Community School in Chester Basin for five days on Monday, after he defied the principal’s instruction not to wear a yellow T-shirt sporting the phrase. It was his seventh T-shirt-related suspension in the space of a month.

Swinimer had received support from N.S. Progressive Conservative Leader Jamie Baillie, as well as a Bridgewater businessman who donated enough money to have 100 of the T-shirts made.

A facilitator was called to help bridge the divide between Swinimer and the high school, and the suspension was reversed on Friday.
After Swinimer’s story grabbed headlines across the country and beyond, Supt. Nancy Pynch-Worthylake told The Canadian Press that a forum was organized for Swinimer and his detractors to debate the issue.

Swinimer had worn the shirt to school several times without incident until, two weeks earlier, he was told another student had complained. That was when he was told to leave the shirt at home.

Swinimer said he never intended to be rude or disrespectful, but he wanted to keep wearing the shirt because he stands behind its message.

“That’s my opinion, but under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms I’m allowed to have my opinion and express my opinion,” the Grade 12 student told CTV’s Canada AM on Friday.

“The only reason I’m wearing the T-shirt continually now is because I’m standing up for my rights as a Canadian citizen.”

My comment:

Christians who do not take the words “Jesus” in their mouth do not have to “worry” about their life on Earth. They will not be persecuted for their faith.

Many of them will neither make it into the Kingdom of Heaven.

When Jesus set up His seat of judgment, he will spit lukewarm claimed to be “Christians” out of his mouth.

I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth. You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see.

It is true that life is wasted without Jesus. I will get my self one of these t-shirts, and wear it.

Jesus barred from healing cancer in New Zealand

The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has upheld a complaint against a church billboard reading “Jesus Heals Cancer”.

More of less nude girls can be on the boards, but not a message from the Bible.

The billboard was erected by the Equippers’ Church in Napier. As well as the primary statement, it also claimed six of the church’s parishioners had been cured of cancer by Jesus.

It instantly drew criticism from cancer survivors and members of the community, and sparked numerous complaints to the ASA. Although the wording of the billboard was changed in March, the ASA still investigated.

The Complaints Board agreed that while the church is a not-for-profit organisation, the billboard – which provided information about church service times – fit the definition of an advertisement.

As a result, the billboard was found to be in breach of Rules 2, 5 and 11 and Basic Principle 4 of the ASA Code of Ethics.

Basic Principle 4 states that advertisements “should be prepared with a due sense of social responsibility to consumers and to society”.

Rule 2: Truthful Presentation, says advertisements should not be “likely to deceive or mislead the consumer [or] make false and misleading representation”.

Rule 5: Offensiveness, says advertisements “should not contain anything which in the light of generally prevailing community standards is likely to cause serious or widespread offence”.

Rule 11: Advocacy Advertising, says opinions in advocacy advertising “may be robust, [but] opinion should be clearly distinguishable from factual information”.

Complainants said the advertisement was “disrespectful and hurtful” to people who knew, or had known, someone suffering from cancer.

My comment:

I am no longer sure that New Zealand will permit people to advertise that Jesus saves. Simply because this kind of advertisement might be offensive to people who do not believe there is a need for salvation.

That Jesus can cure cancer is a well documented fact. There are tens of thousands of testimonies globally, where people have given Jesus honor and glory for curing their cancer.

The Bible is crystal clear that all power in heaven and on earth is with Jesus.

Matthew 28:18
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.

So why should it be difficult for Him to cure a person from cancer?

The problem will be why not all people are cured from cancer.

That is a question that a cancer sick person should ask Jesus.  The Messiah has promised to reply to our prayers.

Pastor Rick Warren, pastor of the 20,000-member Saddleback Church in Lake Forest, California, tweeted his defiance of the Obama administration’s requirements that religious institutions cover all forms of contraception, including abortifacients like Ella and the IUD, as part of their health care plans.

On Tuesday, Warren addressed the issue three times on his Twitter feed.
“I’d go to jail rather than cave in to a govement [sic.] mandate that violates what God commands us to do. Would you? Acts 5:29,” he wrote.

The second message quoted that verse of Scripture: “We gave you strict orders not to teach in this name” The apostles replied “We must obey God rather than men!” Acts 5:29

Pastor Warren’s third tweet stated, “I’m not a Catholic but I stand in 100 per cent solidarity with my brothers & sisters to practice their belief against govt pressure.”

Warren has been called “America’s most influential spiritual leader” and “America’s Pastor.” His 2002 book, The Purpose Driven Life, sold more than 30 million copies.

Warren’s words come as a particularly stinging indictment to Barack Obama, who chose Warren to give the invocation at his presidential inauguration in January 2009.

Warren’s comments come as part of a flurry of evangelical condemnation of the mandate, which goes into effect for religious institutions in 2013.

My comment:

I have earlier published the prayer where Pastor Rick Warren prayed to Muslim “Esa”. This took place when Warren blessed President Obama during his inauguration.

I pray that Rick Warren also take Saddleback Church out of the antisemitic World Council of Churches (WCC).

Nevertheless, it is with great joy I read Warrens rebuke of the US President.  Either we agree or disagree with the Church growth movement, we must give Warren credit for his last tweets.

Every Christian must not only be willing and reedy to go to jail for their faith in Jesus. They must also ask Jesus to give them strength to be martyred, if that is required.

The latest move by the US Government is just another example of the anti-Christian nature of every Earthly empire. Jesus underlined that His Kingdom is not of the World.  Every follower of Jesus must focus on Eternity, and rejoice over our citizenship in Heaven.

US Pastors still believe in God of the Bible

73 per cent of US Southern Baptist pastors accept that God created us.

12 per cent of Southern Baptist Pastors choose to believe in Darwin, that the ancestors of their members were mokeys.

America’s Protestant pastors overwhelmingly reject the theory of evolution and are evenly split on whether the earth is 6,000 years old, according to a survey released Monday by the Southern Baptist Convention.

When asked if “God used evolution to create people,” 73 per cent of pastors disagreed – 64 per cent said they strongly disagreed – compared to 12 per cent who said they agree.

Asked whether the earth is approximately 6,000 years old, 46 per cent agreed, compared to 43 per cent who disagreed.

A movement called Young Earth creationism promotes the 6,000-year-old figure, arguing that it is rooted in the Bible. Scientists say the earth is about 4.5 billion years old.

The Southern Baptist Convention survey, which queried 1,000 American Protestant pastors, also found that 74 per cent believe the biblical Adam and Eve were literal people.

My comment:

It is good that the large majority of Southern Baptists pastors in the US still believe in the God that appointed them.

The Bible explains that God is our creator.  I believe this.

Search for your motive for coming to Jesus

The Bible says, you can not come to Jesus without the Father drawing your closer to him.

You are not a single day better, than others Jesus have to rise from the dust.

The Father saw His Son being dragged, beaten and flogged. The Father saw His sinless Son being cursed by men, sinners who crucified Him.  Father God let His Son replace you on the cross. This is the true “Replacement theology”.

You can not chose Jesus, or demand Him to “save you”. It is Jesus who chose you, If you are willing….

John 6:37
All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away.

  No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day.

You have to come to the cross, and be crucified too. Because it should have been you hanging on that cross.  People who are saved by Jesus, understand that they deserve to die and being sent to hell.  Yesterday, today and at any given moment.

Learn from the thief’s on the cross. If you are honest. You are one of them. Or some of the other people who surrendered to Him.

She gave him the most costly perfume, just to Honor Him. Jesus said all his students would keep on telling her story.

Son of David, have mercy on me.

This should have been your hand. Are you willing?

People have all kind of motives for “coming” to Jesus. Some have made a plan they want Him to bless. Others have given a gift, and want high return on their “good deeds”.

Other have been become seriously ill, and do not want to “die”. One group want to have Jesus as a free life insurance policy, so they do not have to spend eternity in Hell.

Most of our motives are dubious. Without His mercy, non of us will be able to make it to the Kingdom of Heaven. There are thousand ways to Jesus. Only He knows who are His. But there in only one way to God, and that way is Jesus.

There is a popular way to separate the two gropes, in two general categories.

1. Those who have come to Jesus because they have been told they can “name and claim” some blessings in his name.

2. Those who have come to surrender to His Lordship.

Konstantin the Great was a man who fits into the first group. He wanted to become the Emperor of Rome, and needed the blessings of the “Christian God” to achieve this goal. Konstantin was the man who deceived the flock. He and his Popes dragged Christianity into the Kingdom of Darkness.

About 1.000 years later, men like Martin Luther brought the Church back into the light.

Luther experienced the evil forces of darkness that had held the Roman Cathoic Church in captivity. When he knew the truth, He came to Jesus to surrender his soul.

Luther did not do everything correctly, and wrote some horrible things about the Jewish people. But when I read his books, I can see a man with a sincere motive of leading the Germans to Jesus. He understood that Man can only be saved by mercy and grace, alone.

Two of my favorite topics of studies, are linked to the conversion of Constantine in 315 A.D, and the exodus for Martin Luther in 1515 A.D.

People who read my articles will have noticed, that there is a third favorite topic: The rise and fall of Fascism in Europe.

The history of the Roman Catholic Church is closely connected to all these three topics. The Popes have been involved in it all.

Rome has printed its own version of World History. I have been called by my Master Jesus to expose the Vatican version of history as a complete falsehood.  The majority of the men who have been portrayed as Catholic “saints”, are nothing but hard core religious criminals, who served the Worldly papacy.  The priesthood who canonized these criminals, are the very priesthood of Satan.

Jesus’s power is made manifest in our weakness

 When we are broken, weak and in desperate need of Him – that is when His power can shine through the darkest moments in our lives.

When we have nothing left, we can finally surrender all to Jesus.

There are times in our lives when we reach the end of ourselves. Surrounded by chaos, problems, illness and the world, our human frailty confronts us face to face. In desperation, some people are tempted to reach for drugs and alcohol. Some try to fill their need with sexual addiction. Some fill their lives with money and things to fill the gap. None of it works.  When the end of ourselves is reached, some tragically choose suicide.

There is only ONE that can fill our soul, no matter what the circumstances. Only ONE that truly makes our lives worth living. Jesus Christ, son of God. He came for you and me. He came for the sick and the lowly. He came for the sinners and the prostitutes and the outcasts. He came that we may have LIFE, and have it more abundantly! That does not mean we will have perfect life when we accept Jesus. It often means many trials and difficulties will come. But the joy that we are given, makes every trial pale in comparison. Suddenly we can endure what we never thought possible because the power of the Holy Spirit comes to live inside us and His power is made perfect in weakness.

It’s hard for Jesus to use us if we have pride in ourselves. And in our pride, we can’t find Him. Sometimes he allows trials and problems to come into our lives so we will finally give up on our own strength and reach for Him. He loves you that much. You are so precious to Him, He wants ALL of you. Not lip service. Not just on Sunday. Not at church one day a week. He wants your life. He wants you.

When we realize we are nothing without Him, He can then use us. When we are through living for ourselves and ask Him to live through us, His power is made manifest. It is then no longer us that lives, but Jesus within us.

There may be someone who is reading this right now who is at the end of their rope. There seems to be no solution and no way out. There is a way out and His name is Jesus. Call out His name, surrender your life to Him and cast all your cares on Him because He cares for you!  When you give up the control of your life and allow Jesus to be the driver, He will work all things for good for those who love Him.  We always think we know what is best for ourselves and we are almost always wrong. Get out of the driver seat. Trust in the ONE who gave you life to lead you into new life with Him so that your joy may be full. In your brokenness, cry out and without fail He will answer and deliver you and despite any circumstance, the peace that surpasses all understanding will remain with you. Amen.
