Greek neo-Nazi acquitted of Holocaust denial

ATHENS (JTA) — An Athens appeals court acquitted a well-known Greek neo-Nazi of Holocaust denial. The five-member court on Friday found Kostas Plevris not guilty of “incitement to racial hatred and violence against the Jews” over his 1,400-page book “Jews — The Whole Truth,” which denies the Holocaust and is blatantly anti-Semitic.

Plevris had been convicted in December 2007 and sentenced to 14 months in prison, as well as three years probation. The Greek Jewish umbrella organization, the Central Board of Jewish Communities in Greece, in a news release said the court’s decision “saddens, perplexes and causes concern among citizens of a modern democratic society as a self-confessed promoter of Nazism and racism remains unpunished though he not only distorts proven historical evidence, but even worse, uses his pen to incite hatred and provoke discrimination and violence against citizens of Greece and Europe.”

In the book, Plevris calls Jews “sub-human” and writes, “I constantly blame the German Nazis for not ridding our Europe of Jewish Zionism when it was in their power to do so.” He also urges his readers to “Free yourselves from Jewish propaganda that deceives you with falsehoods about concentration camps, gas chambers, ‘ovens’ and other fairy tales about the pseudo-holocaust.

Anti-Semitic NY Times cartoon

NEW YORK: The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) has castigated a “hideously anti-Semitic” syndicated cartoon by Pat Oliphant published in newspapers across the US on Wednesday.

A Oliphant employed Nazi-like imagery and depicted the Star of David in a hateful manner, the ADL said.

The Simon Wiesenthal Center similarly denounced the cartoon and has urged news Web sites to remove it.

The cartoon, a comment on Israel’s recent offensive against Hamas in Gaza, depicts a uniformed figure marching in goose step, swinging a sword in one hand and pushing a Star of David on a wheel with the other. The star is adorned with fangs and chases after a tiny woman carrying a child labeled “Gaza.”

“This is absolutely disgusting. God Almighty! This is a classic example of criticism of Israel carried out in a pernicious, anti-Semitic fashion,” said Efraim Zuroff, director of the Wiesenthal Center’s Jerusalem office.

“There is no context. It is an insidious portrayal and a total distortion of reality, simply an implication that brute Jewish strength goes after the hopelessly helpless Gaza residents,” Zuroff added.

“Pat Oliphant’s outlandish and offensive use of the Star of David in combination with Nazi-like imagery is hideously anti-Semitic,” said Abe Foxman, ADL national director. “It employs Nazi imagery by portraying Israel as a jack-booted, goose-stepping headless apparition. The implication is of an Israeli policy without a head or a heart.”

“Israel’s defensive military operation to protect the lives of its men, women and children who are being continuously bombarded by Hamas rocket attacks has been turned on its head to show the victims as heartless, headless aggressors,” Foxman said.

“The imagery in this cartoon mimics the venomous anti-Semitic propaganda of the Nazi and Soviet eras. It is cartoons like this that inspired millions of people to hate in the 1930s and help set the stage for the Nazi genocide,” said Rabbi Marvin Hier, the Wiesenthal Center’s dean, and Rabbi Abraham Cooper, its associate dean.

Most alarming, said Zuroff, was that “this image, unambiguous in its anti-Semitic intent, has reached millions of people across the United States. Oliphant is simply an anti-Semite for disseminating this message.”

Oliphant, a Pulitzer Prize winner for Editorial Cartooning in 1967, has been called “the most influential cartoonist now working” by The New York Times. Oliphant’s body of work, often employing stereotypical caricatures, has been known to spark controversy.

In 2001, the Asian American Journalists Association said Oliphant “cross[ed] the line from acerbic depiction to racial caricature,” and in 2005, the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee made public its concerns that a number of Oliphant’s cartoons were racist and misleading.

China is calling for a new global currency controlled by the International Monetary Fund, stepping up pressure ahead of a London summit of global leaders for changes to a financial system dominated by the US dollar and Western governments.

The comments, in an essay by the Chinese central bank governor released late Monday, reflects Beijing’s growing assertiveness in economic affairs. China is expected to press for developing countries to have a bigger say in finance when leaders of the Group of 20 major economies meet April 2 in London to discuss the global crisis.

Gov. Zhou Xiaochuan’s essay did not mention the dollar by name but said the crisis showed the dangers of relying on one nation’s currency for international payments. The essay was published in both Chinese and English, making clear it was meant for an international audience. A reserve currency is the unit in which a government holds its reserves. But Zhou said the proposed new currency also should be used for trade, investment, pricing commodities and corporate bookkeeping.

Beijing has long been uneasy about relying on the dollar for the bulk of its trade and to store foreign reserves. Premier Wen Jiabao publicly appealed to Washington this month to avoid any steps in response to the crisis that might erode the value of the dollar and Beijing’s estimated $1 trillion holdings in Treasuries and other US government debt.

Nuns treated like servants by priests: Cardinal

INDIA: Early last year, a study by the Catholic church found that 25 per of the nuns in Kerala were unhappy with life inside the four walls of a convent. More recently, a former nun dropped a bombshell revealing in a book about sexual abuse and mental harassment she suffered in the order. Now,there’s further confirmation of their misery and it comes from the leader of India’s archbishops.

Cardinal Varkey Vithayathil, who is president of Catholic Bishops Council of India, says the nuns are humiliated by priests and they live in fear.

The cardinal’s views have appeared in his biography, much like the nun’s own. If Sister Jesmi’s book was called `Amen! Autobiography of a nun’, Vithayathil’s book is titled `Straight from the heart’. The cardinal tells his biographer Paul Thelakat, the spokesperson of Syro-Malabar Church, that the time has come to free the nuns from the “pitiable situation” they are in.

“I would say to a great extent our nuns are not emancipated women. They are often kept under submission by the fear of revenge by priests. That’s how the priests get away with whatever humiliation they heap upon them. It is a pitiable situation from which somebody has to liberate them,” says the 82-year-old cardinal.

“A big complaint of our nuns is that the diocesan priests are treating them like servants, making them wash their clothes, prepare their food, wash the churches, etc and that too without getting paid. These are all unjust ways of treating the women religious.”

About the criticism against the clergy in the controversial Sister Abhaya murder, the senior priest says he believed that the Church had not tried to hide anything in the case. “The Church does not want to protect anyone.”

Vithayathil admits that there has been erosion in values in religious life. “I think asceticism has gone out of religious life.” He also points to the growing gap between the clergy and laity.

Also, in what would be music to the ears of the Sangh Parivar, the cardinal lends legitimacy to arguments against religious conversion. “I must add that there is some truth in their contention that certain Christian groups are going about making mass conversions without any real conversion of heart.”

He says the Church believes in admitting to its fold “people who have belief in the Church” and not in mass conversion of people “who have no faith and become Christians only nominally”. He, however, slams anti-conversion laws, which he says, have banned even legitimate conversion.

Israel security adviser denied entry to US

Will Obama let this man into the US?

Uzi Arad, prime minister-designate Benjamin Netanyahu’s choice for national security adviser, said Wednesday that he has been denied an entry visa to the U.S. for the past two years.

The U.S. authorities has erroneously tied him to Lawrence A. Franklin, a former Defense Department official who pleaded guilty to providing classified defense information to two pro-Israel lobbyists.

Arad confirmed that he had discussed Iran with Franklin in 2004, but insisted the meeting was “superficial” and had nothing to do with the charges against Franklin. – “We had coffee and we talked about the agenda of the day – nothing classified, nothing secret, nothing related to espionage,” Arad said Wednesday.

- “If I was not a Mossad employee in the past, they would not have noticed me.” Arad served in the Mossad for 25 years, becoming Director of Intelligence. He then became the founding head of the Institute for Policy and Strategy at the Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya, where he established the annual Herzliya Conference on Israeli national security.

The Christian World in war with Israel

Nations like Jordan, Spain, Venezuela, Belgium and Turkey wants the leadership of Israel to be sent to the International War Crime Tribunal in Haag, accused for crimes against humanity, during the last military operation in Gaza.

No nations, have requested the same tribunal, to persecute the leadership of Hamas, which since 2005 have fired more than 7.000 rockets into civilian targets in Israel.

Would it be to much to demand, that the democratic free world now would stand up and support another democratic and free nation called Israel? It is quite astonishing, that 500 years after the Reformation, the leadership in several Christian countries have lost any sense of the difference between right and wrong. To side with radical Islam against Israel, is like cutting of the head, while trimming the mustache during shaving.

When you read the Bible, you will see that it was God of Israel who gave Joshua the order to terminate the people, who tried to block the tribes of Israel`s entry into the promised land. The same God gave the Kings David and Solomon the orders to protect Zion. Many « innocent » people lost their life in a bid to stop the plans of the God of the Bible.

If Joshua, King David and King Solomon had been present with us on Earth today, they would quite likely have been tried court-arrested, and taken to the tribunal in Haage. This human action would in any legal terms, be to put the blame on the wrong party.

The one who should have been standing in court, was of course God him self! That would be something to cover for CNN and BBC: «The Mother of all legal battles».

False teachers from Toronto

Todd Bentley is now divorced and remarried. He also fell back into drinking during the meetings in Lakeland. But long time before his fall from grace, during the meetings in Lakeland in June 2008, we sent out a warning. Not because of sins, all of us being forgiven by the Messiah 2000 years ago, but because of his false anointing from Toronto. His foundations are based on worship of angels, and Bentley seems to have been visited by a false Messiah. There is still a need to warn the World about false teachers from Toronto. Todd Bentley is a man that can preach for an hour, without even once open his Bible and quote scriptures.

Here is some lines from our warning from 24.june 2008:

Toronto Airport Church has a story of being visited by out of the body and super natural experiences. From uncontrollable laughter, sounds of animals, people who appear to be drunk, raving around with out self-control in the hall. Gal 5:21-22 clearly explains the difference between fruits that comes from our sinful nature, and fruits of the Holy Spirit. Kenneth Hagin and Kenneth Copland have twisted the scriptures, when they defend this kind of sinful behavior. They say that these people are «drunk in the Spirit». As Hagin once stated in Toronto: «since many people thought the Apostles were drunk, they must have behaved, as they were drunk». This is a total short circuit. Peter tells us the rather opposite: «These men are not drunk, but are speaking in other tongues». (Languages).

On the day of Pentecost, 3.000 Jews heard the Gospel preached by the first Messianic Jews. In the wildest days of the outpouring from Toronto, nobody could hear any sound message coming from this people under the influence of these counterfeit Spirits, who act like animals, etc. To say that this is/was a visit by the Holy Spirit is a point black blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. Jesus warned us: Those who blaspheme against the Holy Spirit, has committed a sin that will never be forgiven. This is a sin that leads to death. We are talking about life and death for hundred of thousands of people.

Todd Bentley, most of the time speaks about him self, or about fenomenalism: His out of the body-experiences. This is typical for New Age teachers. In the video from Toronto Airport Church, Bentley tells us about such an experience. He claims to have a «Moses-experience» in the US city of Seattle, in the form of a pillar of light. Bentley goes on saying that «no one could see this pillar of light», only he. The other people around Him, would only see him (Bentley) rolling around on the floor. How can Bentley know this? How can any one control or double-cheek this kind of «super-apostolic» experiences towards what is written in the Bible about this topic? In fact, it is possible to expose Bentley as a false prophet and a false teacher. In Exo 13: 21-22, the pillar of light can be seen by everyone. The Pillar is guiding a whole people out of Egypt. On the hotel room in Seattle, Bentley and the other people gathered are visited by a Spirit that is making them scream in pain. On the video, this sounds like torture. I fully believe, that there was a Spirit tormenting them. Most likely a demon.

If you willingly accept this kind of anointing, you will not be able to escape without getting deliverance. You will be in need of prayer´s and the laying of hands of faithful Christians. Vi have to be careful not to be deceived. Satan is at his high of deception, when he appears as an angel of light. We can only discern him, by learning from the scripture. Only with help of The Holy Spirit we can discern which spirits are counterfeit, and which is not from God. When spirits and demons visits you and claim to be «Jesus», they are not. The knowledge of how you can find and met Jesus is to be found in the Bible. He will be seated in Heaven, till the day He comes back in the sky`s with full power and glory. It surprises many Christians, when sensible Christian leaders we love, goes on acknowledging the anointing of Todd Bentley as a true Holy Spirit anointing. We have to pray that such Christian leaders are given the gift of discernment.

There are many wonderful people visiting Lakeland. But they are all in extreme danger of being deceived, with the tragic consequences that might follow. Let me remind all of you about Matthew 11.20. In the cities, where most of the miracles of Jesus were performed, people placed them self under judgment and perished. The reason: They did not repent. God TV has for a long time been of great concern by all who do not want to submit to such kinds of anointing. The truth is that so-called Christian TV, today is the main culprit of making it possible for false teachers and false prophets to go global with their deceptive messages.
